What we do
Mecgem designs and builds plants for fluid filtration and treatment: from wine to milk, from juices to oil, up to process water and products for the chemical, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.
Our projects arise from concrete needs: to replace filtration aids now obsolete and difficult to dispose of, to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination, to increase the efficiency of production processes by containing energy consumption, to enhance by-products currently treated as waste, or to modify the characteristics of a product, from its decolorization to the enrichment of nutrients.
Whatever the starting point, the question is always the same: what is the best way to achieve the result? Finding it is our job.
We offer solutions for every type of need: from the most standard plants, to machines designed custom-made to manage a specific process. In both cases, we analyze the product, the context in which it will be inserted, and the logistical and technological constraints: the right solution is born from this analysis.
Everything starts with understanding: the product to be treated, with its physical and chemical characteristics, the objectives to be achieved, the volumes, waste, consumption, and any critical issues of the existing plant. This is where the project takes shape.
When needed, we develop targeted trials and tests, in the lab or directly at your facility. We analyze the product composition, filtration parameters, suspended solids and viscosity, the saline composition of the water. The goal is always the same: to define the solution before proceeding.
We develop the most suitable technology or a combination of technologies. Some examples: microfiltration followed by ultrafiltration; nanofiltration and osmosis in the same plant; filter presses combined with ultrafiltration for filtrate treatment. The solution is born from the process to be managed.
Assembly, internal testing, installation at your facility and start-up testing: we follow every phase until the plant is operational.
For us, the project doesn't end with testing. In the phase where you start using the plant independently, we support you in refining the process, so that the machine immediately expresses its maximum yield.
Often the advantages go beyond the initial need. In product concentration projects, for example, the water obtained from filtration is recovered and reused as technical water for plant washing or directly in the production process. In many cases, the analysis opens up new opportunities, such as the valorization of previously unused by-products.
In daily work, the benefits are immediately visible. The plants operate autonomously, even 24 hours a day, with only operator supervision, and automate operations that were once manual. And that's not all: they also allow for optimizing water and detergent consumption and limiting the risk of contamination. Results measured project after project:
For us, assistance means being a reliable point of reference over time, guiding you in the correct use of the plant.
Networked machines allow us to support you remotely during the start-up phase: if we detect something amiss, we will notify you and guide you in correction. When an intervention that cannot be resolved remotely is needed, we come directly to your facility. When an intervention that cannot be resolved remotely is needed, we intervene at your facility.
In addition to this, there is scheduled maintenance, calibrated to the actual activity of the machine, and continuous support on operational parameters - flow rates, temperatures, washing cycles - to prevent problems and work safely.
And when a new operator joins the company, we are available to continue their training: machine start-up, setting washing recipes, correct operation management. Those who work with us know they can count on concrete support when they need it.
Let's talk about it: this is how every project begins.
